CREST Waltham Forest is a local charity that has been serving the people of Waltham Forest since 1971 and has managed Harmony Hall since 1999. Harmony Hall is a multi-cultural community centre serving the people of central Walthamstow.
The Centre is ideally located just off the busy Walthamstow Market and five minutes’ walk from Walthamstow Central train, bus and tube stations. Harmony Hall and the wide range of groups and activities that take place there, reflects the vibrancy and cultural diversity of the area making it a lively and valued space serving the local community. CREST Waltham Forest provides mental health and dementia services and its work at Harmony Hall supports those aims. CREST overseas the Harmony Health Hub, a collaboration of mental health services and service-user-led mental health groups.
Harmony Hall is proud to be the base for a number of essential mental health groups from the Waltham Forest Bipolar Support Group, to the weekly lunch club provided by East London Mental Health Support (ELMS) and Artworks which promotes recovery through artistic expression and regularly displays art exhibitions in the foyer gallery.
CREST Waltham Forest, in partnership with Waltham Forest Council provides the London hub for the ‘Time To Change’ campaign to reduce stigma and promote a wider understanding of mental health issues.
CREST also challenges stigma and discrimination in mental health through the Waltham Forest Time to Change hub, and promotes a better understanding of mental health issues. In addition, it co-ordinates the Waltham Forest Conscious Care Community which is made up of a collection of peer support groups and a range of activities. This project is facilitated by people who have a lived experienced of mental health. For more information on either of these projects please contact Chris O'Sullivan by email on email@example.com
